About the "Wata-Bus Promotion Ride Experience Project"

  On June 21st, Okinawa Prefecture announced the "Watta Bus Promotion Ride Experience Project"! Please take this opportunity to come to Chatan Town by bus!  Project purpose: By providing prefecture residents with the opportunity to use route buses, they can experience the benefits of buses that cannot be found in cars, and encourage a shift from moderate use of personal cars to moderate use of buses.  Overview of the initiative : Free bus fares all day long. Free bus fares for a total of eight days every Wednesday and Sunday from September 4th (Wednesday) to September 29th (Sunday). (9/4, 9/8, 9/11, 9/15, 9/18, 9/22, 9/25, 9/29)  About who is covered : Almost all route buses and community buses are covered, with the exception of some in Okinawa Prefecture (including remote islands). ➤ Route buses that operate on the main island, such as Ryukyu Bus, Naha Bus, Okinawa Bus, Toyo Bus, Tokyo Bus, etc. ➤ Route buses that operate on remote islands, such as Iejima Sightseeing Bus, Miyako Kyoei Bus, Tou Unyu, etc. ➤ Community buses operated by municipalities within the prefecture (Note: Chatan Town's community buses are not covered as they operate on demand! ) * Limousine buses, regular sightseeing buses, and buses that operate on expressways (route numbers 111, 117, etc.) are not covered. * We are currently coordinating with bus operators and municipalities to finalize the routes that will be covered.  [Contact information] Okinawa Prefectural Transportation Policy Division 098-866-2045
