"Chatan no Shio" is made from seawater off the coast of Chatan Town. It is produced using 100% "concentrated seawater," which is created during the process of making fresh water from seawater at the Okinawa Prefecture Enterprise Bureau's Seawater Desalination Center. The salt is boiled down at a low temperature of 65 degrees, resulting in a strong umami flavor and a balanced taste of deliciousness and saltiness, making it suitable for use with all types of ingredients.
